Julian Bond, the first black elected official of Georgia's Legislature at 21 years old.  He went on to hold numerous elected and appointed positions.  He worked with SNCC in the early 1960s and ran against his friend and CO-founder of SNCC Congressman Lewis and lost.  He was elected chair of the NAACP Board of Directors where he served for numerous years.
