    Description

    THE STUDENT PRINCE
    ,
2 Souvenir Programs, USA Tours, 1927 and c.1931
    .  The musical opened in
    in
    NYC on
12/02/24 and ran for 608 performances
.  Just after the Broadway run there were as many as 10 road companies performing across the USA.  The second souvenir program is from a tour of the revival that opened in NYC on 01/29/31 and ran for only 42 performances.  Inside both souvenir programs are character drawings, synopsis, history, some song lyrics, list of songs and scene synopsis and are virtually the same.  The first program includes a one-fold Playbill type program from a Boston tour at the Majestic Theatre (both the souvenir program & the smaller program have the original director and choreographer listed).  The cast includes DeWolf Hopper, Halfred Young, Ilse Marvenga, Herbert Waterous, Kay Hawley, Yvan Servais and Lillian Glasser
.  There is no cast list in either souvenir program.  The second souvenir program lists the original revival director, Edward J. Scanlon and has 2 production photos.  Music
by Sigmund Romberg, lyrics and book by Dorothy Donnelly.  Directed by J.C. Huffman and choreographed by Max Scheck.  Supervised by J.J. Shubert
    .  The program is complete.
    This is NOT a reproduction!!
    Note:
Souvenir programs are 9 x 12 inches but may vary somewhat in size.
Conditions are near excellent with minor wear.  The first (and older) program is missing 2 pages (4 sides) in the back of the program but all the text seems complete.  it also has a few edge chips and a light vertical fold.  The second program is complete and is virtually the same as the other program but has a number written in pencil at the top edger of the front cover.
International purchases are subject to a .00 handling fee.
    CONDITION:
I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality:  Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.  Good means just that:  desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade.  Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders.  Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear.  All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition.
    IMAGES:
I use a digital camera so the entire piece is visible.
    BILLING:
