Description
Beautiful photo filled souvenir book of Longwood Gardens, one of the horticultural treasures of America, which lies 30 miles west of Philadelphia in the Historic Brandywine Valley near Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.This pictorial book reflects the tradition of seasonal change within 350 acres of public display gardens created by Pierre Samuel du Pont (1870-1954). Photographs depict Longwood at its best in spring, summer, fall and winter.
There are over 65 color photographs, most with captions on 44 pages.
Book is 9 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches. Copyrighted 1983 but purchased in 1989.
There is a newspaper article included in the back cover that is about "Longwood prepares for Christmas" by Jane G. Pepper, former President of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.
Also included is general information pamphlet.
