Quarter dollar size silver coin, issued during the reign of Postumus (c. 260-269 AD). The coin comes mounted in a silver bezel, with a double loupe for stringing on a necklace.When the Roman Army in Gaul revolted against Gallienus circa 260 AD, Postumus seized control of the provinces of Gaul, Germania, Britannia and Hispania, which is also known as the Gallic Empire. He ruled this area until 269 AD, when he was murdered by his own troops.
