US Air was formed in 1979 when the former Allegheny Airlines changed its name and began seeking to expand its operations. A decade later, it acquired Piedmont Airlines and Pacific Southwest Airlines and was one of the U.S.'s seven remaining transcontinental. In 2005, America West Airlines carried out a reverse merger, acquiring the assets and branding of the larger US Air while putting the America West leadership team largely in charge of the merged airline. For auction is a deck of playing cards from US Air from 1992. The deck has been opened, but the cards show no use. In addition to the 52 playing cards, the deck has a 1992 calendar card, two jokers, and a card saying "thank you" in 4 languages.
