US Air was formed in 1979 when the former Allegheny Airlines changed its name and began seeking to expand its operations. A decade later, it acquired Piedmont Airlines and Pacific Southwest Airlines and was one of the U.S.'s seven remaining transcontinental. In 2005, America West Airlines carried out a reverse merger, acquiring the assets and branding of the larger US Air while putting the America West leadership team largely in charge of the merged airline. For auction is a deck of playing cards from US Air from 1992. The deck has been opened, but the cards show no use. In addition to the 52 playing cards, the deck has two jokers, and a card saying "thank you" in 4 languages.
